Once upon a time, I sang and played guitar in a group called One Hundred Words For Snow. Late 90’s emo band, but in retrospect, we were more DIY, or post hardcore, or indie-core, or “post core”.. possibly “post-post”. Anyhow, this was the last song that we recorded before our demise in 1998.

#4 Run Dash Sprint - I am Floating Here.
You know, the more i listen to it, i really liked this song, and I miss being in this band. Its a total shame that Paul’s hallucinations made made him increasingly hard to collaborate with.
I dig my juicy verbed out slide playing, check out how I tastefully double the vox in the chorus, but then trail off on my own luscious and emotive melody. Paul’s voice always reminded me of Damien Jurado here.
I wish we could just clip the ending off though.. i am way out of tune. can anyone tell? is it just me going crazy here?

This is a classical guitar standard, one of the first pieces I ever heard, and certainly a great motivator. I never thought i would ever be able to play this, and then, one day, it was easy.
I recorded this in Mike Simmons’ home studio with Robbie Rist on the board some time in 2001. Enjoy

#2 - Metal Fences - This Design
I have one regret about moving to New York, one regret only. This song and several others were forged from gallon jugs of russian imperial stout, and a collaboration that should have started 10 years earlier, and lasted many more. recorded on macbook with garageband in my old apartment, Fullerton, CA

This is what i do with my spare time… I reunite my old band from 13 years ago even though we live on opposite coasts. Then I make transcriptions of the songs, so that we can relearn them in time for our reunion. Then I do a mid export, throw it into garage band and lay down some fat beats..
I have this set as my ring tone. A few weeks ago my phone rang while at a client’s office: she says “oh i know its a shame about michael jackson”
